MEET THE CONVENORS

DR SAEED BAGHERI

Saeed is Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in International Law at the University of Reading School of Law, where he has also held a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship from 2019-2021. Prior to joining the University of Reading, he was a Max Weber Postdoctoral Fellow at the European University Institute (EUI) from 2017-2019. Saeed conducts research in the law on the use of force, international humanitarian law, and international human rights law, and teaches across a range of modules on the law programs. He has published extensively on jus ad bellum, jus in bello, peacebuilding and post-conflict justice, and international human rights law. He is the author of International Law and the War with Islamic State: Challenges for Jus ad Bellum and Jus in Bello (Oxford, Hart Publishing, 1st edition, 2021).

PROFESSOR IRENE COUZIGOU

Professor Irène Couzigou researches in the field of general International Law, including International Human Rights Law. Her current research focuses on International Law on Peace and Security, especially International Law on Cybersecurity, International Law on the Use of Force and United Nations Law. Having been trained up to her doctoral degree at the University of Paris II, Professor Couzigou maintains a strong research interest in French Public Law.

DR KERTTULI LINGENFELTER

Dr Kerttuli Lingenfelter is a post-doctoral researcher in the ENSURE research group at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law in Heidelberg. She holds a PhD in Law from the European University Institute.

DR HENNING LAHMANN

Dr Henning Lahmann is Assistant Professor at eLaw - Center for Law and Digital Technologies at Leiden University Law School. His research focuses on the intersection of digital technologies and international law, with a particular interest in the use of digital open-source information by civil society actors and its impact on international legal processes, disinformation and information operations, the legal, political, and ethical implications of the use of AI in military and security applications, transnational cybersecurity, and civil and human rights after the digital transformation.

DR PRABHPREET SINGH

Dr Prabhpreet Singh is Assistant Professor of Law at the School of Law, Christ University, Lavasa.
